Born at Hyderbad. Married Dr. M.G. Naidu, in 1898. Was educated at Hyderabad. Kings
College, London, and at Girton College, Cambridge.

Activity associated with the Womens Movement in India and with the welfare of
Indian students ; Member of the Bombay Municipal Corporation, 1923-29 ; of the leaders of
the Quit India Movement ; first women President of the Indian National
Congress, 1925; Delegate, Indian Round Table Conference in London, 1931 ; went to South
Africa and East Africa on a political mission on behalf of the Indian settlers, 1924 ;
Member Government of India Deputation to South Africa, 1932 ; Governor of U.P., 1947-49 ;
she was awarded the Gold "Kaiser-e-Hind" Medal for organising flood relief work
in Hyderabad.
