    Highlights of Career

    Has the unique distinction of being the Founder President of the Bharatiya Vidya Bhawan, 1938. Was member of the Legislative Assembly, Bombay, 1927-46 ; Member Working Committee of the Indian National Congress 1930 ; A.I.C.C. 1930-1936 and 1947 ; actively associated with the Freedom Movement and courted imprisonment a number of times; Member Constituent Assembly of India and of its Drafting Committee Parliament, 1947-52 ; Secretary Congress Parliamentry Board, 1934; Home Minister Government of Bombay, 1937-39; Agent General to the Government of India, Hyderbad ,1948 ; Chairman, Institute of Agriculture, Anand, since 1951; has been Trustee of the Birla Education Trust and Other Trusts, since 1948; Union Minister for Food and Agriculture, 1950-52 ; Chairman Sanskrit Vishwa Parishad, since 1951; Executive Chairman, of the Indian law Institute, 1957-60.
